Christmas and the Post Holidays Slump

So the holidays are over and life returns to relative normality. Weirdly enough I feel busier now than before the holidays which is new. But since I have lots of pictures to post I will try my best to not get too side tracked and to do it in order like a normal person... HA. So let us begin ... CHRISTMAS! Christmas was nice and fairly quiet lots of good presents and fun surprises. My parents found a place where it snows in the desert every hour! It is bubble snow and went up my nose but was entertaining to see masses of people pretend it was normal for bubbles to rain from the sky.

My Tree full of early presents

The bigger tree on Christmas

YUM HAPPY HIPPOS and an awesome mug from Germany

My dad got me plain Christmas ornaments so I could make my own... this is them not totally finished but close.

Odds and ends lol A knife I needed to complete the knife block a cute penguin some finishing needles and of course what every girl needs at Christmas Pepper spray and a TASER ....clearly mom was doing some shopping

A framing owl ornament from my dad.

Rainbow Kitchen supplies from ange :D

Slippers from my Aunt Sasa... she also sent bags of alpaca roving but I forgot to take a picture because it was already carefully packed with my knitting stuff. (but I did not forget to mention it. WIN!)

I got these for myself because I was in love with them... who wouldn't be they're awesome!

Dad found a blow out sale on baking stuff YESSSS already used the container to send him to work with stuff!

I also got a Play Station 3 which is awesome I just plugged it in before i took pictures of things so.. oops and some doctor who t shirts which were already in the closet or on my person. If I forgot anything I am sorry I am doing my best. I also sent out a good deal of hand made goodies some for Christmas and some just recently but I am going to lump those babies together to save some time!

The first pair of mittens I made for my friend Jess... they look weird but it is due to the fact that i had to tear out  part to make them longer (not steps included in the pattern) because she told me her fingers were at least an inch longer than mine.. and they just fit mine at the time... when she got them she was like WTH are these and when she put them on she was so excited because she finally had a pair that fit her... also they look much nicer on.. YAY progress.

I also made her a tiny green penguin named pickles

Grayish brown mittens for Ange :D she also got a candy machine that she seems in love with lol

A head band for Casey there were matching white and pink mittens but they seem to be missing in pictures..

Casey also got a tiny turtle

ear muff  for Aunt Sasa

Aunt Sasa Also got what I have named the "oreo mittens"
I also made a frame for mom for a poster she had gotten in Rome.
TADAAAA

Lastly just recently I made some things for a friend who lives in Philly. She had skyped me recently to tell me that back in November on a lunch run she had wanted to get mittens and crossed the street only to be hit by a bicyclist running a red light. Due to her recent move (new apartment and new work building) she could not remember her old address so they took her to the hospital thinking she had a concussion. Jenni's life is normally quite cinematic she said she could hear people screaming and running from the building behind her and within second there was a doctor and nurses standing around her. Needless to say she still did not have mittens or a burrito but being so far away I could only help with the mittens lol. So I made her some and sent them along with a note and just recently made her a hat to match I just haven't gotten to send it yet...

Possibly my best mittens yet! they are more of a deep berry wine color but these are phone pictures since i sent the stuff out so fast ... Ps- she loves them...

A card of us looking judgmental to keep up her spirits

front of the hat.. also introducing my head maniquin Pierre he's a party animal... clearly.

not super slouchy but a bit.. lol my first successful hat

In other news we went to a national park some where in Utah last weekend and it was entertaining... deer inches from you just chillin.

proof ^  Isn't it cute!

Also there were mountians but it was a rather gray day so they need to be fixed up a bit.. also I am looking into bar tending school. It has been hard enough to find a job here and I have always wanted to do it anyway so time to expand some horizons! Also there are bars everywhere so after I raise up enough money to move I can hopefully find a job easier other places too. Who doesn't love a kooky large chested drink slinger?! I can be a drink shrink for the masses of this place I imagine the stories will be stupendous and I love a good nutty story. Anyway that is all for now i guess...enjoy!
